BEST PRACTICE SHARING OF EXPERIENCES IN THE AREA OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS

UCPH is a huge academic institution, that offers across its many departments and faculties various career development activities for PhD’s and Postdocs. Some departments do a lot and others might have limited resources in this area.

However, you might not always have an overview of what specific career development initiatives are provided to young researchers within UCPH. What best practices do we have? What do some departments offer, and how do they work with career development? These questions and many more will all be answered, at this informal and cosy event!

The UCPH’s network for employees involved in researcher career development for PhD's and Postdocs* is hosting a unique in-house event focusing on best practice sharing of experiences in the area of career development for young researchers. We have invited  three speakers from different faculties – SUND, SAMF and SCIENCE to come and share their experiences in the area of career development.

*About the UCPHs' network for PhD & Postdoc Career Development

Researcher career development is an important part of UCPH's Talent and Collaboration - Strategy 2023, and one of UCPH's six strategic projects initiated in 2018 was specifically designed to attract and develop the best academic talents. To support and develop this work, the University has launched a professional network for employees involved in researcher career development activities for PhD’s and Postdocs.

This network comprises employees at UCPH engaged directly or indirectly in researcher career development activities for PhD’s and Postdocs. This includes the development of workshops, courses, events, career programmes, mentoring and other career development and clarification activities targeted young researchers.

The network currently comprises 35 members - a diverse group of scientific and administrative staff, PIs and heads of departments. Network meetings are held three times a year.
