Guided Christmas City Walk

Dress warmly and boost your Christmas spirit with a cosy city walk through the oldest part of Copenhagen. While you enjoy the city's Christmas lights, our tour guide will tell us about Danish Christmas traditions – and you will learn that some of them are not originally Danish at all.
You will hear about the Vikings who "drank Christmas", and how the old Yuletide celebrations still influence today’s Christmas traditions. The guide will explain why Danes walk around their Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, and why they decorate it with braided paper Christmas hearts with handles.
Food is, and has always been, an important part of the Danish Christmas celebration, and you will hear about food traditions from both the past and the present – including why the Danes hide an almond in their risalamande (rice pudding).
The guided tour ends at Kongens Nytorv, close to Nyhavn, where you can continue on your own to Nyhavn’s Christmas market if you wish.
