Guided tour: From Free Port to Sustainable District

A guided tour through the Nordhavn district in Copenhagen.

Have your ever wondered what is happening in the Nordhavn district of Copenhagen? Join a city walk, get the answer, and explore how Copenhagen’s old free port is being transformed into a sustainable and energy-conscious district. By 2050 it will accommodate 35,000 new inhabitants and 40,000 workplaces. Nordhavn, which can be translated to the "Northern Port", is one of the largest urban development projects in Northern Europe.

Your guide will tell you about the past in the old port, about today's Nordhavn and not least the future of the area. You will experience some of the Nordhavn landmarks, like the old grain silo, which is transformed into luxury apartments, the new man-made island, and the internationally award-winning Lüders’ Exercise Roof at the roof of a multi-storey carpark, a huge recreational urban space with a great view of Nordhavn and the rest of Copenhagen.
