Guided tour of Assistens Cemetery

Join a guided tour of Denmark's most famous cemetery, Assistens Cemetery, which holds more than 260 years of Danish cultural history. The cemetery is a green oasis in the middle of densely populated Nørrebro, and it is frequently used by its neighbors and visitors from afar – and it is full of good stories about life lived.

On the tour, you will get stories about both known and unknown Danes and foreigners who are buried here. The most famous are Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard and Niels Bohr, whose graves we of course will visit. But you will also hear about Denmark's first stuntwoman, and the fate of the young and apparently dead woman. Along the way, you will also hear about the cemetery's own history.
