Free Danish language lessons on UCPH Campus!
The University of Copenhagen provides free Danish language lessons on campus each semester for all international researchers – and you are very welcome to join!
We start new Danish classes after the summer holiday in August/September 2023.
Who can apply?
The courses are free for all international employees/researchers at the University of Copenhagen. Participation requires that you have a Danish civil registration number (CPR number) and fulfill the criteria for free Danish lessons (Criteria: You have not been in Denmark for more than 5 years and you have not yet completed the Danish Education Programme. You should also not register for Danish lessons at another local, municipality-funded language school while taking lessons with SPEAK). You must also pay a deposit of 2.000 DKK to begin the course. The deposit is fully refundable upon completion of the course. You can read ‘’Terms and conditions in connection to payment and refund’’ before you sign up.
Where will it take place?
UCPH campus! (City Campus, South Campus, Nørre Campus or the MærskTower) Choose your location when registering.
When?
Classes will take place once a week from 17.15 to 19.45 pm. The courses follow the semester (no classes on public holidays) and you will
get an opportunity to take a module test (along with a certificate) upon completion of the course. The courses comply with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In addition to the weekly lessons, you will get access to online learning material.

Advanced Danish language lessons
UCPH also provides Danish language classes for module 2, 3 and 4. Contact SPEAK if you wish to register for language lessons at an intermediate or advanced level.
