Guided Tour of Vesterbro
Explore Vesterbro: A guided tour through the Vesterbro district in Copenhagen.
Vesterbro. Once a poor working-class neighborhood and one of the rougher parts of Copenhagen. Today, a chilled out and trendy neighborhood – but still with an edge. And some of its old roughness.
Join a city walk which takes you from the Central Station through parts of Vesterbro and gives you the history of the neighborhood and its development. Your guide will introduce you to Kødbyen, the Copenhagen Meatpacking District, with its vibrant food scene and night life, but also to the contrasts of Vesterbro. It’s a neighborhood where you find prostitutes, homeless people, and social workers just around the corner from trendy cafes and shops.
The guided tour ends on Sønder Boulevard, the district’s popular stretch of green, designed for people to use as their own backyard. Here, the community space Folkehuset Absalon is also located. They call themselves the “extension of your own living room” and if you want to, you can drop in for lunch or a coffee and explore the place.
We look forward to seeing you at the event!
