About the event

This two-day in-person SARU event brings Ukrainian researchers together for social networking, professional exchange and research presentations in a supportive and informal setting. 

You are welcome to join either one or both days. 

Thursday, September 10th - Social Networking

Location: Ukraine House in Denmark

We are delighted to welcome you to Ukraine House in Denmark for an afternoon of conversation, networking, and community building. 

The programme includes a guided tour of Ukraine House, refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to meet fellow researchers, share experiences, and make new connections in an informal and friendly setting.

Friday, September 11th - Academic Programme

Lecture on Presentation Techniques

This lecture focuses on how to become a more engaging and confident
speaker and will cover: 

  • How excellent speakers prepare their presentations
  • How to add more pathos to your presentations
  • How excellent speakers use language tools to structure a strong delivery
  • Why less is more with visuals
  • How to activate your charisma in the room
  • How to find your inner storyteller
  • Nervousness and fear of speaking

Registration form

We kindly ask that registration is reserved for current and former Scholars at Risk Ukraine (SARU) fellows and researchers connected to the SARU network. Ukrainian researchers at PhD level and above who are currently affiliated with, or have previously been affiliated with, Danish universities or other knowledge institutions are also warmly welcome to participate. 

The language of instruction is English.

Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by ISM, University of Copenhagen (UCPH). Please note that all travel and accommodation arrangements must be booked through UCPH. Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse expenses for bookings made using personal credit cards.
